We're thrilled to launch the DVSA Recognised Register of Logistics Instructors with our first Approved Examination Centre on board.

In our quest to promote road safety and encourage a higher uptake of professional qualifications* within the logistics sector, we hear from Robin Brown, Chairman, SP Training on what it means for him and his business...

It is an honour to become the first Approved Examination Centre (AEC) for the VTCT Skills for Logistics – Register of Logistics Instructors.

VTCT Skills for Logistics - Register of Logistics Instructors is DVSA recognised and meets the gap in the market for a truly independent organisation.

The examinations are modelled very closely on DVSA National Standards for driving heavy vehicles. This national standard describes the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to be a safe and responsible driver of heavy vehicles. The qualification is comprehensive, consisting of a three part examination relating to theory, practical driving ability and instructional ability. In the modern world of logistics, it is important that drivers are trained by competent well qualified instructors who can get the best from a candidate whether teaching them to pass the driving test or training them in advanced driving skills. This new qualification represents the standard that trainers in the logistics industry aspire to.
