With over 2,500 approved centres across 49 countries and registrations of 120,000 candidates annually, VTCT Skills pioneers the establishment of professional standards and formal qualifications.

This comprehensive framework has been developed with the dual objective of promoting road safety and encouraging a higher uptake of professional qualifications^* within the industry.

The LGV Driving Instructor, Driver Trainer / Assessor and Driver Assessor qualifications^* developed by VTCT Skills form an independent framework that operates on the foundation of the DVSA’s driver and instructor testing criteria.

This framework helps both novice and experienced LGV Driving Instructors, Driver Trainer / Assessors and Driver Assessors the opportunity to be assessed and qualified^* against these standards.

If you are an existing registered LGV Driving Instructor or LGV/HGV Assessor you may be eligible to transfer to our register free of charge

or,

If you are an experienced LGV Driving Instructor, Driver Trainer / Assessor or Driver Assessor or would like to become one, find out more about our specialised, unregulated qualifications^* and learn how you can join the register of officially recognised instructors.
